There's nothing like setting out to create the perfect summer dessert for a hot May afternoon, only to realize you live in San Francisco and its going to be 60s, cloudy and foggy. This weekend was the culmination of 8 weeks of Thursday night game night (Bocce and Darts and Yahtzee, oh my!) - and it ended in a great game of Sloshball in Golden Gate Park to which I brought these fresh raspberry crumble bars.
Hopefully, this summer will find us some warm days where I can make some more yummy treats. .(http://smittenkitchen.com/2008/07/blueberry-crumb-bars/)
As you can see below the winners of the whole she-bang were Rookie, Jesse and Abatzis - the men among boys.
The crumble bars were based on a recipe I found on Smitten Kitchen - see below
They were all out of fresh Blueberries at Safeway - and raspberries seemed like an apt filler.
